1. Who is responsible
This website (misrecetasdecocina.es) is a personal, non-profit project for sharing cooking recipes. The published content (recipes, articles, photos, videos and comments) is publicly available: anyone can view it freely, without signing up.
Even so, it is a private, non-commercial project: it is not offered as a professional or business service, it generates no financial profit, and publishing your own recipes, commenting, rating or saving favorites is reserved for people who register as users of the site.
Responsible person: Jordi Rosell Pardo
Contact: soporte@misrecetasdecocina.es
2. Purpose of the site
Any visitor can view the published recipes, their photos, videos and comments, without creating an account. To publish your own recipes, comment, rate or save recipes as favorites you need an account: anyone can create one from "Sign up", confirming their email, or a site administrator can create it.
3. Data we collect
To provide the service, the following data is stored for each user:
- Username and full name
- Password (always stored encrypted, never in plain text)
- Email (optional, only if you want to be able to recover your password or verify your account)
- Profile photo and bio, if the user chooses to add them
- Links to their social networks (Instagram, TikTok, own website), if the user chooses to add them to their profile
- The recipes, comments, photos and videos the user chooses to publish
- Who they follow, who follows them, and the ratings/likes they give or receive
- The private messages they send to or receive from other users of the site, including the message groups they belong to
- Their shopping list and meal plan (including menus saved as favorites) โ this data is strictly personal: unlike the rest of this list, no other user can see it, not even their followers
- Their notification preferences (which alerts they want to receive and which not)
- The private notes they write on recipes and the recipes they mark as cooked (with the date). Only they can see their notes; for cooked recipes, other users only see how many people have cooked each recipe, never who.
- Their allergies and intolerances, only if the user chooses to add them to their profile. This is health data: it's stored solely to hide recipes containing them and to warn the user if they open one, no other user can see it, it's not shared with anyone, and it can be deleted at any time by unticking them on the profile (or it's deleted together with the account). By ticking them, the user gives their explicit consent to this use.
4. How the data is used
The data is used exclusively for the site to work: identifying each user, showing their recipes and comments, and sending strictly necessary emails (password recovery, email verification, and the contact/support form). It is not shared with third parties, not used for advertising and never sold.
The administrator can see aggregated usage statistics of the site (number of visits, most viewed pages) in their own admin panel. These statistics are generated with the site's own tools, not with external third-party services such as Google Analytics, and they don't include data identifying a specific person beyond which recipes they visited if they were signed in. Visit records are deleted automatically after 13 months. Searches that find no recipe are also stored, without any data about who made them (to know which recipes are missing); they are likewise deleted after 13 months.
Private messages between users (including message groups) can only be seen by the people in that conversation; the administrator has no screen to read them, although as the technical person responsible for the server they could access the database if strictly necessary (for example, to investigate misuse of the site).
The site may show sponsored cards (always marked with the "Advertisement" label) among the recipes. They are fixed content managed directly by the site administrator, not an external advertising service: ads are not chosen based on your activity, no tracking cookie is used, and no data is shared with advertisers.
5. Where the data is hosted
The site and its database are hosted on Hostinger servers, which acts as the technical data processor and may have access to the data stored on the server under its own terms of service.
If you use the website on your phone, your own device keeps a copy of the recipes and pages you visit so you can view them offline. That copy stays only on your device, is not sent to anyone, and is deleted when you sign out (more details in the cookie policy).
6. Users' rights
Any user can ask at any time to access, correct or delete their personal data, or to close their account completely. The quickest way is through the Support form, choosing the subject "Request about my data (GDPR)"; you can also write directly to soporte@misrecetasdecocina.es.
In addition, every user can delete their own account at any time from their profile ("Edit my profile" โ "Delete my account"), choosing whether to also delete their recipes and comments or leave them published as "Deleted user".
The administrator handles these requests from the admin panel, where they can edit or deactivate the account, and delete recipes, comments or photos at the request of the person concerned.
7. Ownership of content
Each user keeps the rights to the recipes, photos, videos and comments they publish. By uploading them, they authorize them to be shown on this site to anyone who visits it.
