🍲 My Cooking Recipes

Recipes

How do I create a new recipe?

Click "+ New recipe" from the list. Fill in the title, ingredients and instructions (all three are required) and, if you like, categories, dish type, cuisine, language, servings, time, and photos or videos.

Can I write a recipe in more than one language?

Yes. After filling everything in your language, click the "βž• Add language" button: the same full form appears to translate it into the other two languages, completely optional. Photos are shared, no need to upload them again. If you leave a language blank, the recipe simply won't show in that language β€” anyone viewing it sees it in their own language if a translation exists, or otherwise in the original language.

Can I pick more than one category?

Yes. Under "Categories" there's a dropdown: pick one and it shows up as a bubble below; add as many as you like and remove them with the "Γ—".

How do I edit or delete a recipe?

Open the recipe β€” if you're the one who posted it (or you're an admin), you'll see "Edit" and "Delete" buttons at the top. When editing, the photos and videos you already uploaded show up with a checkbox to remove each one.

Who can see the recipes?

Anyone can see the recipes, photos, videos and comments without needing an account. To publish your own recipes, comment, rate, like, or save favorites, you do need to sign in.

How do I rate, like, or favorite a recipe?

Inside the recipe there's a star rating section (1 to 5), a "❀️ Like" button, and a "β˜† Add to favorites" button. These are three different things: the rating computes an average, the like is a simple count, and favorites are your personal list.

Can I comment on a recipe?

Yes, at the bottom of each recipe there's a comment thread where you can write, reply to another comment, and attach photos.

Can I mention someone in a comment or message?

Yes, type @ followed by their username (e.g. @maria). If it matches someone, it turns into a link to their profile, and they get notified. If the name doesn't match anyone, it just stays as plain text.

How do I download a recipe as a PDF?

Inside the recipe, click the "Download PDF" button and a document will be generated with the title, the cover photo, ingredients and instructions, using the site's colors. The button itself shows a small flag indicating which language it'll download in β€” if the recipe has no translation into your current language, it downloads in its original language instead, so you never get a half-translated document. The photo shown is the one you marked as "β˜… Cover photo" when editing the recipe (or the first one you uploaded, if you haven't marked any).

How do I share a recipe?

Inside the recipe, click "πŸ”— Share": on mobile it opens your share menu (WhatsApp, email...); on desktop it copies the link directly.

What are the cards marked "Advertisement" that I see among the recipes?

It's sponsored content managed directly by the site's administrator, not an external ad network β€” no tracking or cookies involved. They always carry that label so they're clearly distinguished from real recipes.

What can I cook with what I have in the fridge?

On Home, tap "πŸ₯• What can I cook?" and type the ingredients separated by commas (e.g. "chicken, potatoes, garlic"). Recipes with more of them come first, and each one shows how many it has.

Can I change the number of servings of a recipe?

Yes. Above the ingredients there's "Servings βˆ’ 4 +": when you change the number, the quantities are recalculated instantly. If you then open cooking mode, add the recipe to your shopping list or download the PDF, everything comes with the new quantities. Items without a quantity ("salt to taste") stay the same.

What is cooking mode?

Tap "πŸ‘©β€πŸ³ Cooking mode" inside a recipe: it opens full screen, to follow it on the kitchen counter, and while it's open your phone screen stays on. It has two views: "Step by step" (first the ingredients to get ready, then one step at a time, in large text, with the ingredients used in that step; move between them with the buttons or by swiping) and "List" (everything at once, tapping each item to tick it off). With "πŸ”Š Read aloud" your phone reads the step to you, and if you tick "Read each step" it does so every time you move on. Everything is remembered even if you reload the page.

How do the timers work?

If a step says how long it takes ("cook for 10 minutes"), it gets a ⏱️ button in cooking mode. Tapping it starts a countdown in a bar at the bottom; you can run several at once and they keep counting even if you close cooking mode. When one finishes, an alert sounds, the phone vibrates and a "βœ“ Done" button appears that ticks off that step and takes you to the next one. If you allow notifications, it also alerts you when you're in another app (depending on the phone, it may arrive a little late). If the detected time isn't right, the recipe's author can correct or remove it when editing, below each step.

I can't find a recipe, how do I search?

On Home, click "πŸ” Filter": you can search by text, or filter by category, dish type, cuisine and language at once. You can also keep only those that take up to 15, 30 or 60 minutes, or of a given difficulty, and sort them by newest, top rated, quickest or most viewed. Categories come in groups: diet ones (vegan, gluten-free…) must all apply, and for the other groups one is enough (for example, "Meat" or "Fish"). By default, Home only shows recipes available in your current language (with a notice and a link to see all languages if you want); and if you have "tastes" saved in your profile, with no other filters you'll see matching recipes first.

Can I avoid recipes with allergens?

Yes. In the Home filter there's "Without these allergens": tick the ones you want to avoid (the 14 major allergens: gluten, milk, eggs, tree nuts…) and you'll only see recipes without them. If you save them on your profile, under "✏️ Edit my profile" β†’ "My allergies and intolerances", they're applied automatically every time you visit, and if you open a recipe that contains any of them we'll warn you at the top.

Where do each recipe's allergens come from?

When a recipe is written they're ticked automatically by reading the ingredients (✨), and the author checks them before saving. They're shown in the recipe, below the ingredients, and in the PDF. This is for guidance only: always check the labels of the products you use, especially if the allergy is severe.

Can I add a recipe to my weekly meal plan from the recipe itself?

Yes. Inside the recipe, tap "πŸ“… Add to meal plan", choose the day (up to two weeks ahead) and the meal, and that's it. If there was already another recipe in that slot, it's replaced and we let you know, with a link to the meal plan.

Can I write notes on a recipe?

Yes. Below the recipe there's "πŸ“ My notes", for things like "I used less salt" or "5 more minutes in my oven". Only you can see them, and they also appear when you open cooking mode.

What is "I've cooked it" for?

To keep track of what you make: when you tap it (also when you finish in cooking mode) the date is saved, and on your profile you'll see "Recipes I've cooked", most recent first. The recipe shows how many people have cooked it, without saying who.

You can also save "your staples" (things you always buy, like milk or toilet paper) to add them with one tap without typing. You can view it grouped by recipe or by supermarket section (Vegetables, Meat & fish, Dairy...), whichever you prefer each time.

What is the meal plan?

The dropdowns only show recipes of the dish type that makes sense for each slot (for example, no main courses offered for breakfast). There's also a button to add that whole week's ingredients to your shopping list at once.
